The old church and other stories | The Rodeo | Our Elders
The Alexis Creek First Nation is the band government of the Tŝi Del Del subgroup of the Tsilhqot'in people, located in the Chilcotin District in the western Central Interior region of the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is a member of the Tsilhqot'in Tribal Council. The Alexis Creek First Nation reserve community and offices are located on the main reserve, Redstone Reserve. (Redstone is a literal translation of the Tsilhqot'in Tŝi Del Del) The nearest post office is Chilanko Forks. It also includes smaller reserves around Redbrush and Puntzi Lake.
There are approximately 400 people living on-reserve, and probably as many living off-reserve. The band owns Tŝi Del Del Industries, which is active in a number of areas, especially logging. There is a gas-bar on the highway, which is the only place to get gas between the Anaham gasbar and Tatla Lake. Band members still engage in some ranching and hunter-guiding, as well as traditional hunting and fishing. There is a Tŝi Del Del school, a federal health clinic, and an elders centre.
