Tsi Del Del (TDD) is a Forest Products Company. We plan, develop, market, log and conduct silviculture work on our own Forest License and act as a consultant/contractor to other licensees. Currently, we are producing 80,000 to 100,000 m3 annually on a stump to dump basis. The company is equally owned by the Alexis Creek Indian Band and Riverside Forest Products Ltd. The company is based out Chilanko Forks with an office in Williams Lake.
History of the Company
TDD started out as a joint venture company between the Alexis Creek Indian Band and Jacobson Bros. Forest Products Ltd. With the acquisition of Jacobson Bros. Forest Products Ltd. by Riverside Forest Products Ltd., TDD became an equally owned, joint venture company between Riverside Forest Products Ltd. and the Alexis Creek Indian Band. The company was formed in September of 1992 and commenced operations on November 7, 1992. The company has been profitable since its inception and has been a consistent provider of jobs. Currently over 40 full time forestry, logging and trucking related jobs exist with Tsi Del Del.
Company Intentions
TDD obtained a Forest License based on the following intentions:
″ Creating employment opportunities and a local economy for native and non- native people of the Chilcotin.
″ Providing a means of conflict resolution between the native community and the forest industry.
″ Providing a means for the Alexis Creek Indian Band to be involved with the planning and management of timber resources in their traditional use areas.
″ Providing the foundation for a self reliant community, by providing long term employment opportunities, and enhancing the quality of life for Alexis Creek Band members.
″ Providing a secure and stable flow of timber to Riverside Forest Products Limited.
″ Increasing utilization beyond Close Utilization Standards to contribute to the pulpwood and value added program.
″ Supporting the long-term sustainable management of timber resources by the Alexis Creek Indian Band in their traditional use areas.
″ Promoting educational opportunities for band members in the field of forestry and ensuring band self-reliance.
″ Ensuring an Educational Trust Fund is established based on $0.50 / M3 Of delivered logs.
″ Training Alexis Creek Indian Band Members in various facets of forestry to enable them to take advantage of job, opportunities arising from this Forest Licence and the forest sector in general.
