Dan Hardy
Band Administrator

Dan was born into a northern Ontario Ojibwa nation, along with seven sisters and two brothers. He is happily married, has four grown sons, a twenty one year old granddaughter, and a 4 year old grandson.

 

During Dan’s younger years, before attending University, he worked numerous jobs from dishwasher, waiter, construction laborer, store clerk, and as a laborer in a plywood plant. He also spent many years working on the oil rigs in the Northwest Territories and throughout Alberta. During his stint in the oilfield, he also owned and operated a property management company.

 

Shortly after graduating University, the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College arm, Dan was employed at Royal Bank, specializing in Aboriginal loans. Dan has accumulated over twenty six years of Business and Human Resource Management experience, including thirteen years of managing Band programs and aboriginal business turn around, including a successful term as Economic Development Officer.

 

Dan ventured north for two years and worked for the Government of Nunavut as a Senior Community Inspector. Returning south, he has enjoyed returning to the work of Band Manager. Dan has a strong belief in promoting business while maintaining traditional values that were taught to him by his Mishoomis/grandfather.

Martina William
Receptionist

Martina William, a member of Alexis Creek Indian Band (Tsi Deldel), graduated from grade twelve in 1995. Soon after graduation she started working for an archeologist.

 

In 2007 Martina started working as the receptionist for the Alexis Creek First Nation. She is an active member of the Redstone Rodeo Committee, she helps fundraise for the annual rodeo and also volunteers on the weekend of the rodeo.

 

Martina is a proud godmother of three children and is an avid quilter.

Dixie William
Maintenance Worker

Dixie was born to David and Mary William and educated at Caribou Student Residence and Puntzi Mountain School. Dixie has 2 sisters and 3 brothers. He is married Seraphine William, and has raised two girls and three boys.

 

Dixie worked for Tsi Deldel Enterprise for 15 years; he has done hand bucking, worked as a skidder, processor, logging truck driver and loader man. He is currently the maintenance person; taking water samples, doing mechanics, maintaining the roads, etc.

 

Dixie and Seraphine have a ranch with a small herd of Hereford and Angus cows. They also do guided hunting tours for moose hunters in the fall; they plan to expand by including trail riding in the near future.

 

Dixie’s favourite past time includes: fishing, playing poker, horseback riding, and camping with family. He also serves on the rodeo committee.
